What is the 4×1000 tax (GMF)?

The 4×1000 is Colombia's financial transactions tax (GMF), which charges $4 for every $1,000 leaving a bank account. It is paid simply for moving money, regardless of purpose.

It is a small cost per transaction, but it grows with volume: the more payments the operation makes, the more 4×1000 the project accumulates in a month.

Example: in July 2026 the 4×1000 was $24,789 COP, within the operator's fee settlement. It is a minor figure, but it appears explicitly in the report for transparency.
