What does EAR (Effective Annual Rate) mean?
EAR, or Effective Annual Rate, is a term that appears in Circular Urban projects. You will see it as a number followed by the abbreviation EAR. For example, 14%% EAR or 18%% EAR.
The Effective Annual Rate is the percentage that represents the projected performance of your investment over a full year. Each project has its own rate — it may vary depending on the type, stage, and conditions of the project.
Example 1: You invest $1,000,000 COP in a project with an EAR of 12%% to 16%%. At the minimum you would receive $120,000 COP per year. At the maximum, $160,000 COP per year.
Example 2: You invest $5,000,000 COP with an EAR of 16%% to 20%%. At the minimum you would receive $800,000 COP per year. At the maximum, $1,000,000 COP per year.
These are just examples. The actual percentages can be found on each project detail page.
At Circular Urban we do not guarantee returns. The Effective Annual Rate is a reference projection, not a promise. The result depends on the actual performance of the project.
At Circular Urban you always see the Effective Annual Rate before investing. Because understanding is the first step.
