What are ZNI (Non-Interconnected Zones)?

Renewable Energy

They are the regions not connected to the National Interconnected System: remote rural areas, much of the Pacific coast and the Amazon. They follow more flexible rules for distributed generation.

For the investor: a project in a ZNI can obtain better energy prices, in exchange for greater logistical and operating complexity.
