They are different, complementary figures. The Energy Community was created by article 235 of Law 2294 of 2023 and governs how a group of people generates and uses energy collectively; it is not a corporate form. The SPV/SAS is the company that owns the solar asset and is the investment vehicle.
For the investor: one project can involve both. You invest in the SPV, not in the community.
