Pay less for your energy

Solar energy that costs less than what you pay today, without buying a single panel.

We build, finance and operate the plant. You pay only for what you use.

  • No need to switch electricity retailer
  • You pay less than your current tariff
  • For businesses and for homes too
See the two paths

How much could you stop paying?

COP 2,500,000

That's about 2,778 kWh a month. The kWh is the unit your bill charges you for energy in.

You'd stop paying each month
COP 250,000 to COP 500,000
In a year
COP 3,000,000 to COP 6,000,000
Plant size
21 kWp

The kWp measures how big a solar plant is: how much it can produce in full sun.

Takes less than 1 minute. No commitment.

Reference estimate using an average tariff of COP 900 per kWh and a 10% to 20% discount on your current tariff. The real figure depends on your bill, your tariff, when during the day you use energy and the installation site.

The words, made simple

Six terms you'll see on this page and in any solar proposal.

Power purchase agreement (PPA)

You buy the energy from a solar plant at an agreed price, for years, without buying the plant.

Energy Community (Comunidad Energética)

A group of homes and businesses that team up to produce energy together. The law has recognized it since 2023.

Solar farm

A plot of land with many panels that produces energy for many people at once, far from your roof.

Surplus energy (excedentes)

Energy that's produced but not used. It goes to the grid and gets paid for, so nothing is wasted.

kWh

Kilowatt-hour: the unit your bill charges you for energy in.

kWp

Kilowatt-peak: how big a solar plant is, what it can produce in full sun.

Two paths, depending on how much energy you use

Both lower your bill without you buying equipment. What changes is where the plant is and how much you use.

What's your consumption like?

Pick one and we'll point out the path that fits you.

PPA

Power purchase agreement

We put a solar plant on your property or near it. You buy its energy, for less than you pay today.

Who it's for
Businesses, residential complexes and properties with high consumption
Where the plant is
On your property or near it
What you put into equipment
0 pesos
What you pay
Only the kWh you use, at an agreed price
How long it lasts
Between 10 and 20 years

How it works

  1. 1

We review your bills. With 12 months of consumption and your space, we size the plant.

  2. 2

We finance and build. A company set up for the project, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), puts in the capital. You don't buy equipment.

  3. 3

We operate it for 10 to 20 years. You pay per kWh at a fixed or indexed price, below your tariff.

  4. 4

What's left over goes to the grid. It's settled as surplus energy, under Resolución CREG 174 de 2021.

Community

Energy Community (Comunidad Energética)

You link your bill to a nearby solar farm and get a discount. You don't install anything.

Who it's for
Homes and businesses that want a discount
Where the plant is
On a nearby solar farm
What you put into equipment
0 pesos: you don't install anything
What you pay
Your usual bill, with a discount
How long it lasts
Whatever the community agreement says

How it works

  1. 1

You join the community. A group of users associated under Decreto 2236 de 2023.

  2. 2

You link your bill. To a nearby solar farm. You keep the same electricity retailer.

  3. 3

The farm produces. And delivers its energy to the same grid that already reaches your home.

  4. 4

You get the discount. On your tariff, in the bill you already receive.

The farm is built in full and the community fills up later

Over the same period, the projects tied to a single developer in the market avoided more than 200,000 tonnes of CO₂ in two years of operation.

The rules this is built on

Both models operate within the law. These are the regulations in force, grouped by the question they answer.

Legal and corporate basis

What's allowed and how a community is formed.

  • Ley 1715 de 2014 (Law 1715 of 2014)
  • Ley 2294 de 2023, art. 235
  • Decreto 2236 de 2023
  • Resolución MinMinas 40332 de 2026
What each one says
  • Ley 1715 de 2014 (Law 1715 of 2014). Amended by Law 2099 of 2021. Framework for renewable energy, self-generation and tax incentives.
  • Ley 2294 de 2023, art. 235. Creates the legal figure of the Energy Community (Comunidad Energética).
  • Decreto 2236 de 2023. Regulates how an Energy Community is formed and operates.
  • Resolución MinMinas 40332 de 2026. Currently governs the Energy Community Registry.

Connection and commercialization

How the plant connects and how the leftover energy gets paid.

  • Resolución CREG 174 de 2021
  • Resolución CREG 101072 de 2025
  • Resolución CREG 101099 de 2026
  • Resolución UPME 501 de 2024
What each one says
  • Resolución CREG 174 de 2021. The core rule for connection, metering and settlement of surplus energy.
  • Resolución CREG 101072 de 2025. Procedure for collective self-generators and distributed generators.
  • Resolución CREG 101099 de 2026. Extends the connection procedure to members between 1 and 5 MW.
  • Resolución UPME 501 de 2024. Sets the 5 MW collective capacity limit and the dispersion rules.

Tax

The tax benefits and how to apply for them.

  • Law 1715 and Law 2099
  • Decreto 895 de 2022
  • UPME certification
What each one says
  • Law 1715 and Law 2099. Special income tax deduction, accelerated depreciation and VAT exclusion.
  • Decreto 895 de 2022. Procedure to access those incentives.
  • UPME certification. A required step before buying equipment, to keep the benefits.

Questions we always get

Do I have to buy the panels?

NoNo. Under the PPA model the special purpose vehicle finances, installs, operates and maintains the system. You pay for the energy you use, at an agreed rate, and the asset never goes on your balance sheet.

Do I have to switch electricity retailer?

NoNo. You stay with the same retailer. If you join an Energy Community, the discount shows up on the bill you already receive.

What happens to the energy I don't use?

It goes to the grid and is settled as surplus energy under CREG Resolution 174 of 2021. The retailer reflects it on your bill.

How long is the contract?

10 to 20 yearsBetween 10 and 20 years, depending on the size of the system and your consumption. When the contract ends, the system becomes the client's property.

Is it for my home or only for businesses?

The PPA is designed for businesses, residential complexes and properties with high consumption. With household consumption, the path is linking your bill to a nearby Energy Community.

What if my consumption changes over the years?

The system is sized on your bills from the last 12 months and reviewed before signing. What you don't use goes to the grid under the surplus scheme.

What if I want to take part in a project's capital?

Projects are structured with strategic partners through private agreements, with identity verification and access to the project's information. Results are subject to each project's performance. Start by booking a conversation with the team.
