What is real estate tokenization?

General Questions

Real estate tokenization means representing rights over a property, such as a share of its ownership or income, as digital tokens recorded on a blockchain.

A real estate token is not a cryptocurrency: a cryptocurrency is a digital asset whose price depends only on supply and demand, while a token represents rights over a specific asset. In Colombia, issuing and offering this kind of token is subject to regulation by the Superintendencia Financiera.

At Circular Urban your participation is formalised through private contracts and the legal records of the project's company.
